I am in my early fifties, was an acute sufferer of very rare, extremely painful sensory nerve disorder termed " Trigeminal Neuralgia ", since 2007. It usually effects one side of the face with excruciating pain triggered by movements associated with talking, eating, brushing teeth, shaving, cold breeze, variance in temperature ( air conditioning is taboo ), among other factors, leaving one utterly incapacitated. There were three attacks lasting several months each, of course with remissions in between as characteristic. The web describes the pain as " the worst pain ever known to mankind " . It is also called " the suicide disease " in common man's terms. Western Medicine has found no drugs nor the cause for getting it so far. Surgery linked with the brain is what is presently available, yet not without risk. Some Epileptic Drugs are capable of reducing the pain for a short while, not leaving out side effects though. In desperation various Alternative Medicines i.e Ayurveda, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Magnet Therapy etc. were tried travelling to many nooks and corners of the country incurring heavy expenditure. In March this year ( 2010 ) a caring friend who heard about my predicament directed me to Mr Padmasiri. Many practitioners I had seen upto that point falsely claimed to have successfully treated numerous similar cases before, just to get me hooked to them. Mr Padmasiri was different.
